This is a role for senior engineers who’ve outgrown just being a Tech Lead – but don’t want to disappear into spreadsheets and people ops.
You’ll lead a team of 7–8 highly capable engineers, stay technically hands-on, and focus on removing friction so great engineers can do their best work.
Think second layer of engineering leadership – a step before full Engineering Manager.
The platform is growing, the problems are getting more interesting, and the team needs a leader who can balance code, people, and process.
The environment is deeply technical: DDD, event-driven architecture, clean code, strong CS fundamentals.
Lead 7–8 engineers with a mix of line management and technical leadership.
Start ~10–20% hands-on coding, increasing to 30–40% as systems and processes are streamlined.
Act as the technical conscience of the team – architecture, quality, and decision-making.
Remove obstacles, prioritise support work, and keep delivery flowing without burning people out.
Partner closely with Product, Principal Engineers, and Engineering Management.
Lift engineering maturity through better process, not bureaucracy.
You’re a senior .NET engineer who still cares deeply about writing excellent code.
You’re fluent in Domain-Driven Design, event-driven systems, and clean architecture.
You enjoy mentoring strong, opinionated engineers – and you’re calm under pressure.
You’ve led teams before, but you still want your hands in the problem space.
You’re ready for a role that’s a clear step up from Tech Lead, without going full people-only management.
